How many domes are there?
Two. The Falls and The Flats. Each dome is private, with its own bathroom, kitchenette, and outdoor space.
Tell me about The Falls.
The Falls is named after a stretch of river further upstream, a quiet spot known for salmon fishing and the kind of nature that earns a name. The dome is set above the river, surrounded by trees, and designed for two guests.
Tell me about The Flats.
The Flats takes its name from the river flats visible out front, land shaped by sheep farming, hay cutting, vegetable growing, and generations of local care. The dome opens toward that view, with more space and room for up to four guests.
What amenities are included?
Each dome includes a full bathroom, kitchenette, wood stove, mini-split heating and cooling, private outdoor space, and the amenities listed for that dome.
Are the domes suitable year-round?
Yes. The domes are well insulated and have mini-split heating and cooling, with a wood stove for cooler weather. Guests should still pack for Newfoundland weather, which can shift quickly in any season. -
Where exactly are you?
17A Main Road, Branch, Newfoundland and Labrador, A0B1E0. Granda Rose Retreat is on the Cape Shore, along the Branch River. It is about 1 hour 45 minutes from St. John's depending on route, weather, and stops, about 1 hour from the Argentia Ferry Terminal, about 25 minutes from Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve, and about 30 minutes from Gooseberry Cove Provincial Park.
What is there to do?
The Cape Shore is best experienced slowly. Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve is a short drive and worth most of a day. Beyond that: beach walks, coastal drives, birdwatching, photography, quiet evenings by the river, and salmon fishing where permitted and properly licensed. We'll send guests a local guide before arrival with practical recommendations.

Yes. The Flats accommodates up to four guests and can work well for small families. Children must be supervised, especially around the river, wood stove, decks, and outdoor amenities. The Falls is designed for two guests. -
