How many domes are there?
Two. The Falls and The Flats. Each is private, with its own hot tub, bathroom, kitchenette, and outdoor space.
Tell me about The Falls.
The Falls is named after a stretch of river further upstream, a quiet spot known for salmon fishing and the kind of nature that earns a name. The dome carries that same quality. Set above the river, surrounded by trees, enclosed and still. Designed for two.
Tell me about The Flats.
The Flats takes its name from the river flats visible right out front, ground that has been used for sheep farming, cutting hay, and growing vegetables, shaped by the people who have worked this land for generations. The dome opens out toward that view. More space, room for up to four guests.
What amenities are included?
Each dome includes a private hot tub and sauna, full bathroom, kitchenette, wood stove, mini-split heating and cooling, and Starlink internet. Guests also have access to the Community Circle, a shared outdoor space with a fire pit.
Are the domes suitable year-round?
Yes. Both domes are fully insulated and designed for Newfoundland four seasons. The mini-split handles heating and cooling, and the wood stove adds warmth and atmosphere on cooler nights.

Where exactly are you?
17A Main Road, Branch, NL, A0B 1E0. On the Cape Shore, along the Branch River. About 1.5 hours from St. John's, 1 hour from the Argentia Ferry Terminal, 25 minutes from Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve, and 30 minutes from Gooseberry Cove Provincial Park.
What is there to do?
The Cape Shore is best experienced slowly. Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve is a short drive and worth most of a day. Beyond that: beach walks, coastal drives, birdwatching, salmon fishing, photography, and quiet evenings by the river. We'll send guests a local guide before arrival with our own recommendations.
Is the retreat family-friendly?
Yes. The Flats accommodates up to four guests and works well for small families.
-
How do I get to Branch?
Branch is on the Cape Shore of the Avalon Peninsula. Most guests drive. Detailed directions are on our How to Get Here page. We recommend downloading directions before leaving, as cell service on the Cape Shore can be limited.
Is there parking on-site?
Yes.
Is the retreat accessible by car year-round?
Yes. We are located just off the main road in Branch.
Is the retreat wheelchair accessible?
Not in the first phase. The terrain around the river and clearing is beautiful but uneven, which makes full accessibility challenging at this stage. It is a priority in our long-term plan.
-
What is your cancellation policy?
Our full cancellation policy is on our Retreat Policies page. In brief: cancellations more than 14 days before arrival receive a full refund; 7 to 14 days, a 50% refund; less than 7 days or no-show, non-refundable. We recommend travel insurance for unexpected disruptions.
Are pets allowed?
No. Service animals are permitted with prior notice.
Is smoking permitted?
Smoking is not permitted inside the domes. We ask guests to be mindful outdoors as well, especially near the river and natural surroundings. A cleaning fee applies if smoking occurs inside.
-

How far is the nearest grocery store?

What should I bring?
Comfortable layers, outdoor footwear, and the food and essentials you will need for your stay. Everything else is here.
Will there be Wi-Fi?

Why "Granda Rose"?
Granda Rose is a name carried forward from this place. Granda Rose Hill is a local landmark in Branch, part of the landscape and the family history that shaped why this retreat exists here and not somewhere else.
Who is behind Granda Rose?
Granda Rose Retreat is a small, independent business built by Stephen Nash, who grew up in Branch and came back to build something here on purpose. It is rooted in the Cape Shore and built to stay that way.
